Select PDF Image & Extract Text from Image of PDF File in the Cloud

What's New in this Release?
PDF files are widely used among developers as these are easy to create and manipulate with maximum security. PDF files are portable and support interactive functions that make it more popular among different file formats. Now, there might be scenarios where you need to extract text from PDF files. Saaspose.Pdf allows you to extract text from Pdf files in no time. You can also extract text from images using a combination of features of two REST APIs i.e. Saaspose.Pdf and Saaspose.OCR. Consider a scenario where you need to extract text from an image in the PDF file. For this, first you need to extract image from PDF file using Saaspose.Pdf REST API. Once you have extracted the image from PDF file, you can now extract the text from image using  Saaspose.OCR REST API. Saaspose.OCR allows you to extract text from BMP and TIFF images. You can extract text and recognize characters from the documents in the cloud using Saaspose.OCR API. You can also recognize the font attributes from extracted text such as font type, font style and font size throughSaaspose.OCR.  A series of simple steps allows you to extract the text from images from PDF files in the cloud:
  • Extract image from PDF files using Saaspose.Pdf
  • Extract text from images using Saaspose.OCR
We have REST and SDK examples for different programming language that you can utilize to extract text from PDF files or images.

Create Barcode Image on Local System or Saaspose Image Storage in Cloud

What's New in this Release?
Saaspose development team is proud to announce the new release of Saaspose.Barcode. Saaspose.Barcode provides two approaches used to create barcode. Firstly, you can upload the desired file to Saaspose Storage using Saaspose REST API. Then you can generate barcode image using Saaspose.Barcode REST examples. You can also use Saaspose.Barcode SDK examples for generating the barcode image from the file uploaded on Saaspose Storage for different languages like .NET, Java, Ruby and PHP. Another way is to directly generate barcode image on your local system using Saaspose.Barcode REST API and SDKs without saving the file to Saaspose Storage. You can use the file path or stream to generate barcode image using Saaspose.Barcode REST API. The file is sent through request stream to Saaspose servers, processed and the output is sent back as response stream. In this case, the file is not saved on Saaspose Storage. It is a single call process that uploads the file to server, generates the barcode image, sends the generated image as response stream and deletes the source file from the server. Please refer to Saaspose.Barcode documentation for more details on its features. So, with this simple set of features you can generate barcode image either from local file or stream in the cloud. Being a platform independent API, Saaspose.Barcode can work with other File Format APIs across any platform using any programming language.

Saaspose.Newsletter September 2012 Edition is Out Now!

Saaspose Newsletter for August 2012 has now been published that highlights all newly added information, exciting new features & informative blogs about Saaspose APIs & SDKs. This month Saaspose.Words, Saaspose.Cells & Saaspose.Slides have introduced new features for finding & replacing text inside workbooks, Word documents & PowerPoint presentations.  Apart from that Saaspose team have also added features for word documents, PowerPoint presentations & PDF files conversion to other file formats.
Tip of the Month: Invitation to Get Involved In Beta Release of Heroku Add-On
We’re very much excited to share a good news with Heroku lovers! As Saaspose is a platform and language independent REST API, we want to make sure that we provide examples, SDKs, add-ons, and plug-ins for your favorite language and platform. Our team has been working to integrate our REST API with Heroku and creating Heroku add-on to get you started with this platform. We have created different examples for Java, Ruby and Python for now. You can also download the source code of these examples from Github.
Our team has put a great deal of effort into bringing this add-on up quickly along with simple getting started documentation and examples etc. Now, we welcome all of you to be part of it during the beta stage. As you understand, we’ll have to invite interested users to be part of this beta release.
